Clapotis Sacrilege

IMAG0276

I like the wool (Cascade Quattro in a strawberry/orange/rhubarb/beige mix) I made my Clapotis out of, but the truth is that in its one year existence, I've worn it twice. Once to the party above and once to my department's Christmas party. I just don't see myself wearing it again in the near future and feel guilty about it.

So...

(Don't hit me here...)

I'm thinking of frogging my Clapotis and using the wool to make a vest instead. I think I used 5 skeins of the Quattro, so there should be enough.

Any objections?

It's a beautiful color on you, and it would be a shame to waste that yarn. If you aren't going to wear a Clapotis, frog it. No sacrilege involved. =)

That color is so beautiful on you, it'd be a shame to keep it in the closet. Frog and knit something else if you're not wearing clap-o-tee. No harm done. It's YOUR knitting. :)

HOly crap woman you'd go so far as to FROG that beautiful thing? You're crazy. I shall be the lone dissention then and say "NO! DON'T FROG IT!" As soon as you do, you'll be wishing you had that Clap. It's gorgeous.

I love my clapotis and wear it as much as possible in the cold weather. While yours is just as beautiful honestly if you don't wear it then frog it. The yarn should be used for something you will truly enjoy.

I say, you know how much time you invested in knitting the Clapotis. If you are okay with frogging it than rip it out. If you feel a twinge of doubt, than see if you can arrange a trade with someone.

Go for it! You should wear that color in another incarnation, totally. (Not that I don't like clappy, but I think knitting's meant to be worn!) Anyway, at least you have picture proof of its existence :)

Well, it's yours, so you can do with it what you will, but wow, it's so gorgeous. The color is great on you! I say, find ways to where it and buy MORE yarn for a vest. :)

I agree, it is a great color on you. Anything rhubarb has to be great.
You wore it, enjoyed, have a picture of it and if you really dont think you will wear it again have fun and make something else. You can always re-make it.

i agree with the others - that color is fantastic! it should be put to use in something you will wear, especially since you like the yarn too.
