さよなら, クルクル回転 ブランケット! **

There she is in all her glory - Asami's Pinwheel Blanket. Asami, Gara, and Ray came over for dinner last night and I gave them the blanket to take home with them. I am really glad I added in an extra ring of shell edging. The blanket completely relaxed in the wash and there is no curling whatsoever now.

Pinwheel Blanket 2

As you might notice, my pinwheel doesn't look normal in the center. I tried and tried in vain to cast on the 5 stitches over 3 dpns and continue for there and just couldn't do it. In the end I cheated and crocheted myself a small circle and then picked up 20 stitches around it and continued from there.

The blanket itself is a very simple and mesmerizing knit. You add in 10 stiches by means of yarn overs every other round. I found myself going around and around to see where the colours would pool. I'm very pleased with this blanket and will definitely try this one again.

The particulars:

Yarn: Bernat Baby Softee for the variegated, Bernat Satin Sport for the trim
Needles: Size G hook for center, Size 6 dpns, 16" circular, 24" circular, and finally 40" circular - all Knitpick. For the trim I upsized to a size K crochet hook for a looser feel.

Big Cat, please don't go...

Lucky suitcase

As soon as I brought the suitcase out Lucky climbed up on top and didn't want to get off.

** Goodbye, Pinwheel Blanket!
