Frickin-frackin - GAH!
I was having such a good day at work. Met a deadline I was worried about, was pleased with the results, got some work done.
Pick up Willow from school and there is a note from her teacher about the work she did (not) do in class and what she needed to finish at home. There went my plans of looking for new shoes and going to the grocery store.
Lectured her all the way home on how school is her job and it is her responsibility to listen to the teacher and do her work when the teacher says, not when she feels like it.
Got home, set her up at her homework station, and she started working. It took her ten frickin-frackin' minutes to finish the bloody work she didn't finish in class. Made dinner from what I could find in the freezer and gave her more work to do.
Saw the new Knitty and the only thing that remotely sparked for me was Hermia and even that one is a half-hearted spark.
Off to supervise more 'extra' homework.
Bah humbug.

How much are they giving her a night? Chunky's got 2 or so pages to do and they're still in "review" mode right now...so it's been easy. But in Aftercare they make him do his homework before he can play. Muhahahaha, peer pressure, the great motivator!
What a sucky thing, but I think you'll both be happy in the long run. Great job on giving her extra work when she tries to avoid the little she has, my parents did the same thing.
Am I the only one who read Hernia and couldn't figure out why anyone would name a pattern something so unpleasant?
Sorry you had a crappy day. But I like your post, especially the first line.
By the way, batty: HA!!
Okay, you had me going - I thought I typoed and spelled it Hernia. It's Hermia, people ;)
Willow has about two pages of homework every night - but some of it is fun stuff. We played a game like War last night where she had to write down my number and her number and then circle the higher number.
The joys of motherhood!
Buy yourself a skein of nice yarn with the money you didn't spend on groceries ;0)
I even read it with an N the first time you protested not making that typo. Even with an M, it sends shivers down me spine.
Good job on assigning extra work.
I hope your weekend ended better than it started!
