Disturbing
I hope all of you find this as disturbing as I do - I saw them while buying Willow new sneakers today. Check the sizes out... some of those are *baby* sizes. As in one year old to maybe three years old. What on earth are people thinking? The picture doesn't give you a clear view of the heel - but there is about an inch of clear plastic heel there - not platform, but an actual heel.

Don't you think we can trace this back to Britney Spears' (and others of her ilk) influence? I don't have kids, but you can be sure no child of mine would have those.
I really hate how we've hootchified our little girls. When did it become more important to be cute/skanky than smart and dignified???
Drives me nuts. My mom wouldn't have let us out like that.
I guess they the equivalent of training wheels for the FM shoes that strippers wear. Were they in the aisle next to the tween g-strings, perchance?
Geesh! There would be a ton of girls around here with those! Yuk!!Fortunately, since my daughter was about Willow's age, jeans and t- shirts are all she'll wear! Even now, no sandals, no skirts, no shorts.(even as hot as it gets here!) A dress when mandatory. Now she's almost 13 and it's still jeans, t-shirts, and tanks, and sneakers. Phew, did I get lucky.
I think I was 19 when I wore my first heels. I can't imagine wearing them after I just learned to walk! Yikes!
Yes, it creeps me out. I love ladylungdoc's explanation, they sure do look like stripper training wheels!
Apart from the obvious eeky aspects, a 1-year-old isn't nearly stable enough on her feet to not fall down and break her neck in these!

What's next, g-string soakers? Get them started early, eh? Disgusting. I can't believe they are allowed to sell stuff like this. No wonder.
the sexualization of little girls is extremely disturbing. I saw a onsies that said sexy and another that said hot.
That is just wrong in so many ways.
Besides the obvious reasons, they look they would hinder the growth and development of a childs feet and do not give them the suport they need at such a young age.
OMG!!! I'm amazed that they even produce these!! I don't have girls, but those things would not be allowed in my house!!!
