So, 7 random facts:
1. I didn't start drinking coffee until my last year of university (94-95) when a Starbucks opened up around the corner from where Tara and I lived.
2. I love watching Instant Star and even have the music on my MP3 player.
3. I have never watched House, Survivor, Amazing Race, Hell's Kitchen, Dancing With the Stars, and a bunch of other shows my co-workers like to talk about.
4. I have very vivid dreams and can usually remember them all.
5. I love to cook and bake - but don't bother with recipes that have more than 10 ingredients.
6. My job has absolutely nothing to do with I went to university for, but I enjoy both areas fiercely.
7. I dream of having a garden half as lovely as my in-laws' garden.

I have to hang my head in embarrassment and admit to watching a few (but not all!) of the shows you mentioned in No. 3. I tend to like having trashy TV on in the background when I'm knitting after everyone is in bed.
I'm with you on no. 3 too. Ever since the Writer's Strike, I just never got back into TV.
I'm an introvert who has serious trouble making small talk. I'll talk politics, philosophy, history, but when I'm supposed to keep a light conversation going and stay away from any or all of those topics, I'm in trouble.
That's why I watch some of these shows and read celebrity magazines (I don't know who half those people are, but who cares?). It gives me something to talk about. It's amazing how easy it is to connect with people when you get them talking about their favorite show!
I watch House but never watch any of the other shows. Well, I lie. I've watched an episode or two of the current Dancing with the stars because Jason Taylor is in it. I think he is cute as hell, and he's a member of the miami dolphins which is Danny's favorite football team.
I watched Survivor the first year and never since. I watched one episode of all the others you mentioned and that was quite enough for me. They're what some of my co-workers talk about, too!
