More Christmas Finished Objects: Amy's Socks

Socks for my manager, Amy:

PC230253

Yarn: Storm Moon Knits Twilight Sock in 'Rockabilly Blues'
Needles: 2 - 16" Knitpicks Size 2 circulars
Pattern: Ann Budd's Basic Sock
Size: Ladies' Medium

Aren't they eye-catching? I bought this yarn at Stitches East a few years ago, and what caught my eye from the beginning was the contrast with the pale turquoise and the black/purple/dark green. Unfortunately, it looks like the dyer has taken an indefinite leave from her shop - it's really too bad because I love how vibrant her colourways are. I had to be sneaky about getting Amy's shoe size out of her - it's not something that comes up in every day conversation! We were talking once and she said her daughter was borrowing her socks (I think her daughter is 11), and I expressed surprise that they would wear the same size... and bingo! Had to store that in my head for a while. I'm really pleased at how they turned out, and Amy loves them.

I have that colorway! I picked it up to make socks (eventually) for Kris. :)

Yeah, Lindsay went on hiatus due to a new job. I pester her every once in a while (she's semi local), but I think the job still keeps her pretty busy.

Ha ha! Yeah so hard to get info out of people like that. Although now that I think about it, my boss keeps a ton of shoes in her cupboard in her office...I could easily sneak in there...hmmmm.

Love that color combo...popping without being eyeball searing!

You're so clever! I'll have to remember that conversation starter, I'm also having a hard time just "popping the question" when it comes to sock sizes.

When I heard she was going on an indefinite leave of absence fro dyeing, I bought 2 more skeins of Indigo Moon yarn. They're waiting for the perfect project. I really, really like the colorway you picked. That contrast is stunning.
