Blogstalking: Macro Guessing Game

This week's assignment for Blogstalking is to take macro shots with your digital camera and have people guess what the objects are. Now, I have a cheapie digital camera and it doesn't have a macro feature, so I was left to use the paltry 2X zoom and then use software to cut an inset out of the photo. Guess away!

On a side note here, I am having an absolute horrible time with my allergies this year. This is the worst it has been since before Willow was born - the first summer we were in Delaware my eyes nearly swelled shut due to some allergen. I am going to have to seriously consider getting allergy shots - I tried nearly every OTC medicine (Claritin, Tavist, Benadryl, Dimetapp, Aleve Cold and Sinus, Chlor-trimeton) and they either make me a groggy mess or are useful for about 4 hours and then I'm back to square one again... even for the meds that claim they are for 24 hours. Does anyone have any better ideas?

Zyrtec is the absolutely the only thing that really works for my son's allergies. Also a good friend of mine told me that Claritin and Zyrtec work much better if you take them before bed. We tried it last year and it really made a difference.

Nancy beat me to it! You MUST get some Zyrtec. They work super well for my son and I too (what's w/our poor kids inheriting these horrible allergies!) My son's allergies are actually worse than mine and add eczema to that.

Zyrtec is the only thing that works for us. We've tried it all.

Good luck!

Well,

#1 looks like one of those glass jar candles

#2 looks like the edge of a burner

#3 looks like chainmail! Honestly, that's what it looks like

#4 a table leg

I'll say #1 is a bottle of wine; #2 is, yeah I have NO clue; #3 is one of those pin board toys--you know you smoosh your face into them and you've got the indentation of your face in it; #4 is a chair leg and #5 is a curtain.

#1 is a vase
#2 is a plate
#3 is one of those whoseewhats you put your face in and they change shaped. They're rectangular with little pins that feel meshy and are sold at places like Brookstone.
#4 is a table or a buffet leg
#5 is a child's artwork of their handprints

I'll get all these wrong:
1) glass candle
2) edge of a clock
3) the pin thing that several have guessed...
4) leg of a chair/table
5) child's handprints

I'm going with:
1. Glass candle,
2. Edge of a mirror? I don't know, but I love the color,
3. Pin board,
4. The gracefully curved leg of a console table, and
5. Willow's handprints on a curtain

Hi All,

I will post the answers when I get home tonight. I have to say, no one has got #1 or #3 correct - all others have been correctly guessed by at least one person.

#3 is that chainmail corset of yours.....
