How Much Are Waffle Makers?

I want a waffle maker just so I can try out this recipe Mmm... savoury waffles! I'm not normally a fan of waffles - I find their sweetness to be cloying - but savoury, cheesy waffles and eggs - I think I could do that.

I think mine was $19.99. You can get them on amazon.com for $25+

There's a bit of a trick figuring out how much batter to put in the machine and for how long to cook the waffles for (mine never took as long as the recipes said) but once you figure that all out - mmm! I usually make about 6 dozen at a time to put in the freezer then you just pop them in the toaster when you want them.

Is it pathetic that I've been thinking about asking for a waffle iron for my birthday or Mother's Day? So domestic! And I HATE appliances! But I've seen too many delish waffle recipes lately.

I think I paid $40 for mine, but I've gotten the use out of it. Waffles are something that I don't eat regularly but when I want them, it's a RIGHT NOW thing.

Get a heavy-duty one. Most of the ones in the Target/Walmart/etc stores are too lightweight to do the job properly. Mine was made by VillaWare, and it's solid, easy to clean, and takes a beating.

I don't usually like waffles either (though I will admit to an occasional craving for Eggos - go figure), but that recipe looks yum.

oooh, we just had waffles for breakfast this morning! The frozen kind though, nothing fancy.

Mine was about 20$ and it has lasted almost 10 years. Cleaning it is a pain and I make a bunch at once and then freeze them.

Maybe $20-30??? Just get a cheapie if you aren't totally committed.
